Patient Info
Our 44 year old patient was so happy with her Sculptra results that she has decided to share her journey with you. She was bothered by facial volume loss and sagging skin and has been getting Morpheous treatments without much result. She had two concerns. One looking overfilled. Second concern was that she heard that getting biostimulants like Sculptra and Radiesse can preclude you from getting a facelift down the road as it can create scar tissue. In regards to looking overfilled, I shared my approach, which is to restore volume in the outer part of the face where the line of ligaments live. Restoring volume in the outer part of the face allows for the mobile more midline and saggy portion to be lifted upward lifting her natural fat pads to where they used to live, much like is accomplished with a deep plane facelift. I also reassured her that I have not had issues performing my deep plane face lifts after Sculptra treatments. Histologic studies show that these bio-stimulants produce collagen and elastin, not scar tissue when performed properly as in my technique. In general, I am also not injecting bio-stimulants in the mobile portion of the face where the deep plane portion of the facelift is performed as it doesn’t result in any facial lifting.
