What is Isolaz?
Acne is a very common condition that affects more than 60 million Americans. Contrary to popular opinion, acne doesn’t just occur in teens but can affect adults at any age as well. Unfortunately, it can be a very difficult condition to treat.
Isolaz combines the power of gentle vacuum pressure with the benefits of broadband light. It can be used to treat pustular acne, comedonal acne, and mild to moderate inflammatory acne (acne vulgaris). Isolaz effectively clears the skin for a radiant complexion with fewer acne spots, reduced pore size, and improved skin texture.
Isolaz works by first applying gentle vacuum pressure which works deep within the pores to loosen and extract dirt, blackheads and excess oil. Broadband light is then used to help destroy the bacteria which causes acne while also improving redness associated with acne. Isolaz can be used on patients of all ages with all skin types. It is effective on both light and dark skin and on many areas of the body, including the back and chest as well as the face. It’s ideal for those who have not responded to traditional skin care treatments like antibiotics, lasers or topical treatments, as well as those who are tired of topical or oral therapy and seeking an alternative treatment. Isolaz can be performed on its own or as an adjunct to other acne regimens.
Isolaz Treatment
The Isolaz acne light treatment is performed in our medical spa at Laser & Cosmetic Surgery Specialists of Newburgh, New York. Treatment is quick, lasting just fifteen to thirty minutes. Patients are very comfortable during treatment and report just a small amount of pressure or a warming sensation. Because there is no discomfort or pain, anesthesia is not needed; however, a cooling device may be used to ensure patient comfort.
Isolaz Acne Light: Recovery and Results
Patients are able to immediately return to work and other normal activities as there is little to no downtime following treatment with Isolaz. Some mild redness may occur but this typically fades within an hour or less. Unlike other acne treatments, Isolaz does not cause light sensitivity and there are very few associated complications.
Results can be seen within 24-48 hours following treatment; however, initial results may require a series of four to six treatments. Patients will see clearing of skin discoloration, improvement in redness, drying and flattening of blemishes, decreased oil production, and a significant decrease in the number of acne spots, pimples and pustules. Results are long lasting.
